Knock knock.
Who's there?
The Gormleys... Saturday was the annual Gormely sibling bbq. As is usual not everyone make it every year (we do our best) and as is also usual we have various assorted 'extras'. This year, our grandson, Cole was one of the extras. Cole is 12 and visiting us from British Columbia, CA. The sibling bbq was a great way to (re) introduce Cole to some of my side of the family all at once.
This year the bbq was also a celebration of Nathan's graduation from high school and going away to Rochester Institute of Technology. RIT's colors are Orange and Brown so Meg asked us to wear orange and / or bring food that was orange in color. Do you know how many orange snacks there are? We had cheezits, doritos, cheese curls, cheezies and 7 layer dip which had a definitie orange hue. Many of us wore orange shirts as well. I'm really glad the colors were not green. That would have made for some interesting food choices.
We were very lucky with the weather. It has been a very very rainy and stormy August in 2011 but for the picnic we had sunny, cooler, lower humidity weather. It was quite nice. All in all the bbq was very relaxing and as always a great visit of family.
The bbq kind of kicks off a season of visiting among the family. In a little under a month many of us will be walking Laps for Lexi, then in early October we will celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving followed quickly by group cookie bake. So stay tuned for more family gatherings.
Here is a link to an album that includes some photos of the BBQ.

This is another in a series of companion blog posts by me, and my two nieces Amy and Cara. I seem to have beaten Amy to the blog but CARA of all people was first. Way to go.....
