A beautiful start to the 'summer' season

Memorial Day Weekend is upon us and with it the start of the summer season. It is a gorgeous day here today. High temp in the high 80s. It was fairly humid this morning for my run but it felt less so later in the afternoon and now.

After my run and a trip to Sears by Dave to drop off our ailing lawn mower we decided to take a walk into Media and visit the Veterans Museum. I'm not a fan of war history but this museum is FREE and it is in our neighborhood so I wanted to see it. It was actually very nice.  Not too big so I did not get bored and was full of interesting information and artifacts. I especially enjoyed the things from local people who served in various wars.

After the tour of the museum we went to the Front Street Fountain (new in town) for ice cream. I had a double scoop of guatamalen ripple in a waffle cone and Dave and a 2 scoop Sundae. He had one scoop of the ripple and one scoop of coffee with chocolate syrup and mint somethings on top and of course the obligatory whipped cream and cherry. I ate the cherry (it was offered). Let me just say that guatamalen ripple is very good ice cream. It's chocolate ice cream with ripples of peanut butter and chocolate chips throughout. VERY GOOD! You can't go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate.

We continued our walk home and have spent a very pleasant afternoon enjoying the breezes coming in the windows.
