For Carolyn ....

Niece Carolyn tagged/challenged me to complete this .. so here it is.

What, to you, forms the essence of a true heroine?

Confidence.

Share (up to) four heroines of literature that you most admire and relate to.
Can't say. I'm not very good at tracking or keeping track of the characters in the books I read.

Five of your favorite historical novels?
Gone with the Wind
Centennial
Outlander
There are others whose names I can't remember

Johnny Tremain, Little Dorrit, The Singing Tree, Miss Spitfire, Anne of Greene Gables
Out of those five books who is your favorite character and why?
Believe it or not I have not read any of these.

If you were to plan out your dream vacation, where would you travel to - and what would you plan to do there?
My dream vacation would like be an extended road trip with no plan just seeing where I ended up.

What is your favorite time period and culture to read about?Tough to say. If the story is written well it doesn't matter all that much.

You have been invited to perform at the local charity concert. Singing, comedy, recitation - what is your act comprised of?
Oh my.... whatever it was people would laugh so I'd probably try to plan it that way.

If you were to attend a party where each guest was to portray a heroine of literature, who would you select to represent?
I have no idea.

What are your sentiments on the subject of chocolate?
Chocloate is best served with peanut butter.

Favorite author(s)?
Hard to say. I enjoy several.

As a small, imaginative, red-haired damsel might query; would you rather be divinely beautiful, dazzlingly clever, or angelically good? Why?
Dazzlingly clever. I don't think I could pull off the other two.

In which century were most of the books you read written?
20th Century

In your opinion, the ultimate hero in literature is…
I don't know this one.

Describe your ideal dwelling place.
A cabin in the woods.

Have you ever wanted to change a character’s name?
No, but I've often wondered why an author chose a particular name.

In your opinion, the most dastardly villain of all literature is...
Captian Hook (does he count?)
Three favorite Non-fiction books?
Verbomania
Seven Habits of Highly Effective People

Your duties met for the day, how would you choose to spend a carefree summer afternoon?
A long walk or hike
Create a verbal sketch of your dream hat - in such a way as will best portray your true character.
Not into hats much.

Share the most significant event(s) that have marked your life in the past year.
Helping 30+ members of my running group reach their goal of finishing a marathon.

Share the Bible passage(s) that have been most inspiring to you recently.
I haven't read the bible recently.

Of course Captain Hook counts! :)
Actually question #4 referred to the novels you had listed in question #3. Johnny Tremain, Little Dorrit etc. were the novels Cara had listed.
I really enjoyed reading this!
