Quebec... the ride home (Pictures at the end)

We got up just before the alarm at 6:00 a.m. Our plan was to get on the road and eat breakfast after getting a few miles under out tires. First we met Mary Frances (an MLS staff member) in the lobby of the Hilton to pick up a very special package. You see Mary Frances bought snow shoes while in Canada. In fact, she bought on her first day here. Problems arose as she tried to figure out how to get them back to PA safely. They were a bit awkward and a little fragile to turn over to your typical airline baggage handler. As the group gathered in the lobby on Saturday evening to head to dinner, Dave says... we drove. Why don't we take them home for her. Well you would have thought he proposed world peace for the reaction that got! So this morning we met Mary Frances in the lobby for the hand off. I will take them to work with me tomorrow and she will come by to pick them up. Her office is in King of Prussia must minutes from mine in Malvern.

Today was a much better day for travel than it was for our trip on Friday. We stopped for breakfast about an hour into the drive. It was ok.... I keep forgetting that I really don't like breakfast sausage; too greasy. We took turns driving and including a stop for dinner (more on that in a minute) and were home in 12 hours. 1 hour less than the trip up. The difference was the border crossing more or less. We breezed through customs despite having a really weird looking package spawled across the back seat (snow shoes). There was no line and the guard was very friendly. I've never gone across so easily and Dave could only recall one other time that he had (at 5AM one time).

We had decided we would eat dinner at a Cracker Barrel. We both like it and it's something we only do on road trips. We were on 78 around 4:00 and started looking. We saw the sign for one and realized it was the exit for Meg's house! Instead of going straight off 78 West we turned left and went to the restaurant at the top of the hill. We called Meg to see if she'd like to join us but it was just 5:00 so I guess she wasn't home from work yet.

Here are the much mentioned pictures with captions. I hope they are worth the wait.

Also a video of the 'string quartet' at the ice breaker reception. They were playing "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones..... LOL

Are you sure the hour less was the border crossing and not the time change? LOL

I'm sure because there is no time change between Philadelphia and Quebec... LOL
