Kamloops day 1; August 28

On Friday everyone was pretty tired. We had all been up early for several days in a row. It was nice not to have to rush out of bed in the morning. Cole, Carmen and I went out after breakfast to go running. We had talked about doing this together for awhile leading up to our arrival. Cole decided to try new shoes but they were too big and not running shoes so after a few minutes his feet were really hurting him. So we walked the rest of the route. We took it easy on Friday staying close to home decompressing.

In the evening we went to the Kamploops Outdoor Professional Rodeo. We really didn't care so much about the Rodeo although never having been to one it was intriguing. However, I'd say that once was enough. The reason for going was to see the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Musical Ride. Think band halftime show at a football game with horses. RCMP officers ride in formation to music. It's pretty amazing. I decided to use the video feature on my camera. This was my first attempt at this and because it was after dark there is glare from the lights and it's a bit grainy but it should give you an idea of how it looked.

I'm trying to imagine the North Hunterdon High School marching band with horses...... nope, can't do it!

It seems though that it's either horses or instruments. I can't picture any of the horses playing the drums in formatin so each must have their own talents.
