Kamloops Day 2; August 29

Today we had a trip to the fire center and a family portrait on the agenda. Carmen works for the Forrest Ministry and was shipped out to the Kamploops Fire Center. Vancouver is having terrible forest fires this summer. We piled into the van and stopped at the fire center where several of the big water bombers was just arriving for a refueld and clean up before heading out again for the day. Carmen asked if we could get a tour of the plane. The pilot was happy to oblige.

From there we headed to a park. Brendan had been running a low grade fever since for a day and now it started to take off. Poor kid was a real trooper but he was obviously hurting.
Dawson, or Dogson as he became known after this, showed how he can scratch his head with his foot.
We watched a freight train cross the tracks and Grampa explains to Cole and Carmen how the coal cars dump their load.

After a trip to Scoops for ice cream we headed to Sears fora family portrait.
