Iron Pigs Baseball

On Tuesday we went to the Iron Pigs Baseball game with Dad, Dinana, Jimmy and Hanna. Hanna is visiting Dad and Dinana from France for two weeks. She is 12. Her English is halting but very good I think. We all had a very good time.

Originally the trip was planned simply to visit the new park and see a new minor league team. Plus Dad and Dinana wanted to take Hanna to a game and they couldn't manage a Phillies game. Then Jimmy said he would come too (he returned from Alaska on June 27th) and Phillies left fielder (and all star) Raul Ibanez made an appearance in a rehab assignment. So we had lots of special reasons to celebrate.

Sounds like you had fun! I hope Hanna's enjoying her visit with Gumpop and Grandmom, although I can't imagine trying to follow an American baseball game without being able to speak English well; it's so complicated! Where do the Iron Pigs play? Are they a Media team?

I agree it is a complicated game. Dinana helped her throughought the game. AS you know from your visit to the Bowie Baysox there is lots of between innings entertainment at minor league games so there was lots to keep her attention and interested. And music is the universal language. I noticed the Hannah was very into the music.. even stood up to dance a few times.

The Iron Pigs are the Phillies farm club in Lehigh Valley. It is about an hour or so north of here just the other side of Allentown.
