Vacation update

I see tonight that we are at 4 months to our trip. Ok just under 5 months......

Since my last post I've been checking car rentals (for getting around while there), airline prices (for the trip home) and Seattle Mariners tickets. Part of this trip will include Dave's Birthday Baseball game. Although he has seen the Mariners play before, he has not been to Safeco field so of course we must go there :)

We plan to meet Carmen, Todd and the boys for the game on Wednesday, August 26th. Our train is due in at 10:30 or so in the morning. Although we've been told to expect it to be late we believe a 7:05 game time is realistic. The Mariners play Oakland that night and it happens to be one of their family four pack nights; 4 tickets, 4 hotdogs, 4 drinks. There are 7 of us but it looks like it is still a better deal to purchase 2 packs. I'm sure that at least one of the 5 males with us can eat more than one hot dog! :) We hope to purchase those tickets soon. It's much easier on the budget to spread these costs over time. Anyway, if that plan holds true we will stay the night in Seattle and head north on Thursday morning.

I have found a web site trainweb.com that has lots of neat links about trains; maybe too many but for now I'm enjoying reading about the three trains we will ride and what we might see on those trips.
