Snow Day.......AGAIN!

That must have been some shadow the groundhog saw last week! We are in the midst now of our second storm in less than a week. The weather forecasters claim this one will make Saturday's storm look like a baby. It started here last night around 7 pm or so. These pictures were taken just before 10 pm.

At 7:30 I awoke to a quiet morning. No snow was falling. Accuweather kept saying it's still coming folks. So I went out to shovel the 6 inches we had. It was very heavy wet snow and I'm glad I was about to get it out of the way. The temperatures are supposed to continue to drop and more snow is supposed to fall. (In fact, it started again about 11:00). Here is a picture just a few minutes ago. You can see the piles of shoveled snow across the street are getting higher. I may have difficulty heaving it on top of the pile soon!

I have something pay forward today... as I was remvoing snow from the around the car (that's our Honda in the picture) a neighbor with a plow on his truck came down the street. As he got to me, I stopped to let him move on by and he dropped his plow and moved a pile of it, making my job a little easier!

Stay tuned. I'll add to this post later. Hmmm if our power doesn't go out. The lights just flickered.

Edited.... 4:30 P.M.

My last post was at about 11:30 a.m. At 12:30 the power went out and remained out until 3:45. We decided to take a walk to WaWa.... about a 1/2 mile from the house. As we left our neighbor, Andrew, was just coming out to do his porch. Here are some pictures I took on the way to Wawa, including one of the neighbor kids making a snow fort in their front yard.

Wawa was closed but Swiss Farms was open. Here is a picture ( the flash didn't go off) of the two workers there who sold us a newspaper and a half gallon of milk "the old fashioned way". Cash only, writing down what they sold on a piece of paper and using a calculator to figure the total.

Also on the way home, Dave stopped to wipe clean the Media Lions Club sign on RT 252 heading south.
Andrew had cleared the common walk by the time we returned. We set to clearing our porch, our front walk and dig out the car again. Another 4 inches or so had fallen since the morning clear.

Visiblity is way down now, roads are closed and Action News is predciting the storm to end between 8 and 10 pm tonight. The wind is blowing so hard out front that the tree in our front yard is blurred.

Ok, if you are a Star Trek fan, you may wonder what ever happened to the Crystaline Entity... I found it at the corner of Greenhill and Ridge Road........
