September 1; a day of peace and regrouping

Tuesday now; Carmen went to work and Todd, Dave, me and the boys hung out at the house. Cole and I went for a run in the morning then Dave and I and the boys went over to their school. I had never seen it and it was something to do. Brendan and Dawson rode their bikes and Dave, Cole and I walked. Cole was coming down with whatever Brendan had a few days before (Dawson had picked it up the day after Brendan and still wasn't 100%). We were rained on slightly. The boys showed us their own entrances to the school and then we walked/biked back home.

We spent the rest of the day reading and playing cards waiting for mom to get home then we all went to their favorite restaurant Tony Roma's, famous for ribs.

This last picture is my favorite picture for the entire trip. It was Brendan's idea to take it which makes it very special to me. Brendan and I were buddies almost the entire time. We played 6000 games (give or take) of go fish, we read his tractor book while Dawson read to Grandpa, we went roller skating (he skated I pulled him along on his hands) and he rode his bike for me. We were seatmates in the car for much of our time in the car. Brendan is very bright and a bit hyper. His brain goes so fast his mouth cannot keep up. His vocabulary is more than I would expect from most 5 year olds and I didn't always catch what he was saying. He was very patient wiht me as I asked him numerous times to say it again. (He must think I'm really old!). I took a lot of pictures on this trip. Brendan had a broken camera that he took pictures with as well. I have several of us taking picutres of each other.
So here is how this picture came to be. At dinner on Tuesday night Brendan and I sat together. Toward the end of the meal, out of nowhere, Brendan reached up and grabbed me around the neck and tried to take a picture with his camera as (I suppose) he had seen people do before. I asked him if I should take one too. He said yes. This kid is going to be a little heartbreaker some day! He got mine that's for sure.
