4th of July in Landsdowne, PA

As has become tradition we watched fireworks with sister Chris and her gang which includes almost all of Landsdowne (not 5 minutes goes by that someone doesn't yell out "Hi, Chris!"). This year Chris and Erin and Bill staked out a spot early. Dave had a softball tournament earlier in the day so after he arrived home and showered and we ate Wawa hoagies for dinner we headed over.

I kept our entry ticket/stickers in a baggie and waved them to the checkers at the gate. Chris had suggested this as she found out last year that when the fireworks are rained out you have to use the same sticker to get into the rescheduled date. Well last year we were poured on... big time.. .and the stickers were not reusuable. The gate checker commented on our resourcefulness. I just smiled and said, "Learned our lesson from last year" (Sorry Chris I didn't give you credit so I'm doing it now) ;)

The music this year was by a DJ rather than a live band as in previous years. The selection was heavy on Michael Jackson music. Not my favorite compounded by the saturatin of his music since his death last week. However, the music was an improvement over the band from last year. The DJ did manage to find "Saturday in the Park" (I think it was the 4th of July). I didn't hear Philadelphia Freedom which is usually played a lot of July 4th.

The fireworks started a little after 9 and lasted almost 30 minutes. It was a very good show. The winds were cooperative in clearing the sky for the most part. We did manage to get showered with ash but not as much as in previous years.

I might add pictures later. I'm on a different computer right now.
